Have any of you rescheduled your trip to Greece this year?

Just curious if anyone has postponed their plans for Greece this summer, or even last summer as a result of covid. If so, what is the process and what did you do? How did you end up rescheduling everything?
 
Airlines will usually reschedule you without a fee.
Make sure you are vaccinated prior to going or take a rapid test I think 72 hours prior to departure, you should check with the Greek Embassy or your Airline for what's required.

Yeah airlines are being much more flexible these days

Thanks for the question! For myself and my family we are planning a nice long trip to Greece and islands next Summer (of 2022). Although, I know many Greeks (and non-Greeks) that are planning to travel to Greece for vacation this Summer as well!!

Nope, but I'm about to get some tickets. I went last year during August too.

Three couples cancelled our May 2020 trip and have rescheduled it for September this year. We had a hard time getting money back from Norweigian Airlines. Aegean Airlines would not refund since they were still flying. We had a Villa rental that tried to only offer a six month reschedule but Airb&b got us a full refund. The car rentals gave us a full refund with no problem. The all-inclusive or our second week also gave us a full refund with no problems. We booked this year paying extra for the availability to cancel with no fees.

Yes. If our borders (Australia) were not closed we would have attended Despina and Milton's wedding in Chania Crete. Sydney us in lockdown again. Not sure for how long this time - Delta mutant. Stay safe. Stay connected

That's frustrating!! At least you got a refund from some places

I'm flying from the USA. When I purchased my tickets, I saw tickets from $600 - $1700. I didn't get the $600 because I didn't trust the airline companies who would be flying me at that price... I wish the prices were the same as last year (I got tickets for $350)

Wow $350 one way?? That's some of the best prices i've ever heard of. I didnt realize they got so low because of covid

All my holidays (except this coming September) have been cancelled by the suppliers ? My bookings have all fallen either side of times when we could travel. I had my money back quickly with no problem though.
Fully expecting September to be cancelled, just playing the waiting game now.

Several times, no thanks to idiot Boris Johnson. Finally driving down on Tuesday, provided he hasn’t pissed off the EU countries we’re travelling through

My last visit was 2019, before that almost every year, hopefully go again in 2022.

Which Greek island feels the least touristy in the summer?

I know that July and August are busy almost everywhere in Greece, especially on the more famous islands, but I’m curious about places that still feel relatively local and relaxed even during peak season.

I’m not necessarily looking for somewhere completely empty. I’d just love an island where you can still find traditional villages, local tavernas, quieter beaches, and a slower pace without feeling like the entire island is built around tourism.

Have you visited an island in the summer that still felt authentic and not overly crowded? I’d especially be interested in places where locals still seem to set the rhythm of daily life rather than visitors.

Which island would you recommend, and what made it feel less touristy to you? Was it the beaches, villages, restaurants, fewer cruise ships, or just the overall atmosphere?

Best Way to Get a Car Service to JFK Airport Before a Flight to Greece?

Hi everyone, I'm flying out of JFK next month for a trip to Greece and trying to figure out the best way to get to the airport without the usual stress. My flight leaves early in the morning, and I don't want to deal with parking for two weeks or ask a family member to drive me at 4 a.m. I've been looking into booking a car service to JFK Airport instead of a rideshare, mainly because international flights need more buffer time, and I'd rather have a proper chauffeur waiting curbside than risk a driver cancelling at the last minute with all my luggage in tow. A friend of mine recently used Blue Nile Livery for a JFK run and said her chauffeur showed up early, helped load the bags, and tracked the flight the whole way, so she suggested I try them for this trip too.
I'm still trying to figure out whether it's worth booking the chauffeur service a few days in advance or if that's overkill for a domestic pickup, whether a sedan is fine or if an SUV is smarter given how much luggage most of us end up hauling back and forth to Greece, and if anyone has had a chauffeur reroute or adjust pickup timing because of a flight delay before an international departure. For those of you who fly out of JFK often for trips back to Greece, what's worked best for you, and is there a chauffeur service you'd genuinely recommend for an early morning run like this? What are the biggest mistakes first-time visitors make, and what are some experiences you think every newcomer should have? I'd love to pass along some advice from people with firsthand experience.

Why do some score tracking platforms show delayed match updates?

Been tearing my hair out lately trying to follow live matches because some score‑tracking apps update super fast while others lag like they’re stuck in another century. I’m talking minutes behind, not seconds. It’s driving me nuts, especially when I’m juggling fantasy leagues and friendly bets with my buddies.
