Many people wouldn't think to visit a library on their vacation, but I do suggest stopping by just to check it out. Besides being a party town, Mykonos has so many beautiful aspects of Greek culture that shouldn't be missed out on. In the library, you'll be able to see many different books outlining the history and culture of Greece. The library is a historical municipal library, meaning that their books focus on preserving the history of Greece. The address to the library is Kampani 2, Mikonos (Kampani Mansion, Ag. A lot of people don't realize that there's more to Mykonos than the parties! There is a lot see beyond that. Thanks for sharing about this place to learn about Greek history and culture. Next time I am in Mykonos I will check it out!

Advice for Snorkeling in Mykonos?

I'm considering a trip to Mykonos this summer and was thinking about doing some snorkeling while I'm there. I've spent time swimming in Greece before, but I've never really explored what Mykonos offers specifically for snorkeling.

For those who have snorkeled around the island, are there particular beaches or areas that you would recommend? I'm less interested in organized excursions and more interested in places where I can simply bring my own gear and explore from shore.

How is the visibility in the water during the summer months? Are there any spots known for interesting marine life, underwater rock formations, or especially clear water?

I'd also appreciate any practical advice regarding currents, crowds, or the best times of day to go. If you've had a great snorkeling experience in Mykonos, I'd love to hear where you went and what made it memorable.

Best viewpoints in Mykonos?

I’m in the early stages of planning a possible trip to Mykonos and have started researching the best viewpoints on the island. I know about the classic sunset spot near the windmills and Little Venice, but I’m wondering what other viewpoints are worth seeking out, especially ones that aren’t completely packed with crowds.

Are there any higher lookouts, coastal cliffs, quiet hills, or hidden spots where you can really take in the sea and the whitewashed buildings from above? I’d love both sunrise and sunset recommendations, whether they’re easy to reach or require a bit of walking or driving.

Also curious if any viewpoints are near beaches, chapels, or small tavernas where you can linger and enjoy the view longer.

Is Mykonos Worth Visiting Outside of Peak Summer?

I’m curious to hear people’s experiences with Mykonos outside of peak summer. Most of what you see online focuses on July and August, crowded beaches, packed beach clubs, and very high prices, but I know some islands change completely once the main season ends.

For those who’ve visited Mykonos in the shoulder months or off-season, what was it actually like? Did the island feel calmer and more enjoyable, or too quiet and limited? I’m especially interested in how much is still open: restaurants, beaches, transportation, and boat trips.

How different does Mykonos Town feel when it’s not overflowing with visitors? And does the island’s character come through more once the party scene tones down? I heard it could be boring, but I guess it would depend on what we want.

Is Mykonos Enjoyable for Solo Travelers?

I’m thinking about going to Mykonos sometime next year, possibly on my own, and I’m curious how enjoyable the island is for solo travelers.

I know Mykonos has a big reputation for nightlife, beach clubs, and groups of friends traveling together, so I’m wondering whether it still feels comfortable and fun if you’re there alone. I'm gathering information for a cruise that I might book next year, and one of the ports would be Mykonos. I've heard a lot about the island's famous beach clubs and party atmosphere, but that's not really what I'm looking for.

If we only have a few hours during the cruise stop, are there any quieter beaches where it's possible to simply relax, enjoy the scenery, and maybe go for a swim without loud music and big crowds? I'd much rather have a peaceful experience than spend the afternoon at a party beach.

If the beaches are still very busy, what else would you recommend doing with limited time in Mykonos? I'd love to wander through the town, enjoy some local food, or see a few highlights. I'd appreciate any suggestions from people who've visited during a cruise stop.
