Hades is a popular video game released few years back that is inspired by Greek mythology. In Greek mythology, Hades himself is the god of the underworld which is similar to hell in biblical stories. The Olympians were very scared of Hades which is why the video game creators chose Hades as the main character of the game. I suggest that all of my video game and Greek mythology lovers check out this game!

Here is a bit more info about the Hades video game: ??

This game looks so cool! I'm not a gamer necessarily but I'd consider playing this one because it's Greek :)

Hades is a real standout in the gaming world, blending Greek mythology with video games in a way that's truly captivating. ?
It's fascinating how they took Hades, the god of the underworld, and made him the central character. In Greek mythology, he's pretty intense, and it's cool to see how the game creators interpreted that. The fear the Olympians had for him adds an extra layer to the story.
In the gaming realm, I'm pretty much up for anything, but I've got a soft spot for CS. The thrill of those tactical battles always gets me. And you know what's exciting? I recently stumbled upon this marketplace for CS2 skins, and it's like a whole new level of excitement added to the game.

I see it's been a while since you’ve posted, but I just wanted to ask: has anyone here tried Hades II yet, or still playing the first one? I'm curious how they're continuing to bring Greek mythology into the gameplay and characters. Also, did anyone else love how the gods' personalities were written? Felt super fresh but still matched the myths in cool ways.

What I liked most was how they made each character feel real and gave them such strong personalities. If you're into Greek stuff beyond just gaming, I found some cool mythology merch and fun reads over at https://mickeycranks.com . It’s got that same vibe that makes Hades feel so alive and fun to explore.

Was Corfu Really Homer's Scheria?

I'm hoping to visit Corfu in late summer or early fall, so I've been reading more about the island's mythology before I go. One thing that keeps coming up is the idea that Corfu was Homer's Scheria, home of the Phaeacians in the Odyssey. The more I read, the more fascinated I become.

I know there are different theories, and not everyone agrees that Scheria was actually Corfu. Still, it's fun to imagine Odysseus washing ashore there and meeting Nausicaa before finally returning to Ithaca. It certainly adds another layer to visiting the island.

What do you all think? Do you believe Corfu really inspired Homer's Scheria, or do you think Scheria was meant to be an entirely mythical place? I'd also love recommendations for any sites on Corfu with strong connections to these myths that are worth visiting.

How do I fix an automated workout plan that keeps misaligning progress?

Been trying to stick to this automated workout plan, but the thing keeps throwing my progress all outta whack. One week it thinks I’m superhuman, the next it treats me like I’ve never touched a dumbbell. I’m trying to stay consistent, but the constant misalignment’s messing with my motivation big time. I don’t wanna ditch the whole setup, ’cause when it works, it actually helps me stay on track. Anyone been through this or know how to get these apps to stop freaking out and actually track progress like a normal person? I just want the thing to make sense again.

Unsung Heroes of Greek Mythology?

Greek mythology is full of larger-than-life figures like Heracles, Odysseus, and Achilles, but I’ve always been fascinated by the lesser-known heroes who don’t get as much attention. There are so many incredible stories that fly under the radar: Meleager and the Calydonian Boar, Bellerophon taming Pegasus, or even Diomedes, who faced the gods themselves in battle.

I recently came across the story of Atalanta again, the only woman among the Argonauts, raised by a bear, unbeatable in a footrace, and I can’t believe she isn’t talked about more! These “side characters” often feel more human and relatable than the famous ones.

Which lesser-known hero (or heroine) stands out to you? Do you have a favorite overlooked myth or backstory that deserves more love? I’d love to hear which of these hidden legends captured your imagination and why.

Which Greek myth feels most relevant to modern life?

I am curious, which Greek myths feel the most relevant to you in modern life? I’ve been thinking about this lately and I’m curious how others see it.

For me, the myth that feels most relevant right now is Narcissus. The focus on reflection, self-image, and the need for validation feels very familiar in a world shaped by social media. So much of modern life revolves around how we look, how we’re perceived, and how much attention or approval we receive.

The story feels less about vanity and more about becoming absorbed in an image and losing real connection in the process. That idea seems especially timely.

What about you? Which Greek myth feels most relevant to modern life, and what makes it stand out to you today?

Exploring the Story of Persephone and Spring

I’ve recently started learning more about Greek mythology, and I keep coming across the story of Persephone and how it’s connected to the arrival of spring. The idea that her return from the underworld brings life back to the earth is really fascinating to me, especially how it ties into the seasons in such a symbolic way.

I’m curious how others interpret this myth beyond the basic explanation. Do you see it more as a story about nature and seasonal change, or is there a deeper emotional or psychological meaning behind it? I’ve also read a bit about Demeter’s role and how her grief affects the earth, which adds another layer to it.

Would love to hear how others understand or connect with this story!
