Island day trips from Corfu?

I'm currently planning a trip to Corfu and am eager to explore as much as I can in the surrounding areas. I am planning to stay put for the whole time I am in Greece, but I want to do a bit more besides visiting Corfu itself.

I'm particularly interested in:
  • Islands that are easily accessible from Corfu.
  • Recommendations for how to get there (ferry schedules, private boat hires, etc.).
  • Must-see sights or activities on these islands.
Also, if there are any local delicacies or specialties on these islands that I shouldn't miss, I'd love to hear about those too!
 
Here are some choices - full disclaimer, I have never been to any of these but I researched a bit for you:

1. Paxos and Antipaxos​

Just a boat ride away, these islands are a paradise for those seeking tranquility and untouched natural beauty. Famous for their crystal-clear waters, pebble beaches, and charming villages, Paxos and Antipaxos offer an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle. Don't miss the Blue Caves and the chance to swim in some of the clearest waters you've ever seen!

2. Sivota​

Though technically on the mainland, Sivota feels like an island getaway with its stunning beaches and scenic beauty. The trip here by boat includes stops at remarkable locations like the Blue Lagoon, where you can swim in turquoise waters. The village itself is picturesque, with plenty of quaint cafes and shops to explore.

3. Diapontia Islands (Othonoi, Ereikoussa, and Mathraki)​

For those looking to really get off the beaten path, the Diapontia Islands are the least visited and most remote trips you can make from Corfu. These islands offer serene beaches and the genuine feeling of discovering somewhere untouched. Owing to their remoteness, these islands provide perfect spots for relaxation and introspection.

Information about Corfu Public Transport?

I’m planning a trip to Corfu and trying to decide whether I need to rent a car or if public transportation will be enough to get around. I know I can look up schedules myself, but what I really want to hear is first-hand experiences from people who have actually used the buses in Corfu.

Are they reliable and frequent, or should I expect long waits and delays? Do they run late into the evening, or will I be stranded if I stay out too late? Also, are some areas of the island better to stay in if I want to rely on buses rather than a car?

I don’t mind renting a car if I really need to, but I’d love to avoid it if public transportation is decent. Any insights or tips from those who have been there? Thanks in advance!

Tips for Where to Stay in Corfu

I’m planning a trip to Corfu and would love some advice on where to stay. I’m leaning toward something with a village feel—somewhere peaceful, beautiful, and authentic rather than super touristy. I’m planning a trip to Corfu next spring, and while I’ve done some research on the popular spots like the Old Town, Achilleion Palace, and the main beaches, I’m really looking for some hidden gems to explore while I’m there. I love discovering off-the-beaten-path places that aren’t as crowded but still have a lot of charm or natural beauty.
