I am helping a friend plan her trip to Aegina. I have been, but I forget the details and wonder if any of you can help.

There are some religious sites to see, such as the relics of Saint Nektarios, and I need help figuring out where on the island to go. Which Ferry port is best? What's the name of the church or monastery? Can I do this as a day trip from Athens?

Thanks in advance!

I did this ages ago and if memory serves me right, we took the "Dolphin" and we went to clubs and bars like "On The Rocks" which idk if they're still there but there was a great bakery that made bougatses which I ate on the beach for breakfast the morning after I arrived.

I was only here for a day but there are some delightful restaurants and bars in the main area by the port - some great shops, too. There's a gorgeous beach, Saint Nektarios's relics at a large church and also a monastery, and a beautiful, ancient temple. All are worth seeing. You can do it in a day, but that would love for no down time. I would totally stay at least 2 nights here so you can really enjoy it.

July 2024 sets a record as the hottest month in Greece's recorded history!

Yes indeed, additional precautions necessary at all times especially visiting any outdoor archeological and cultural sites,I remember when I used to visit Delos regularly,it was unbearable, always feeling for my lovely tour guides who had go around the sites, sometimes 3/4 times in that blistering heat!

Travelling to Corfu, summer 2025

Hi there

I'm travelling to Corfu, spending a month there in summer 2025. I wondered if I might be able to connect with anyone else with similar plans (male or female, any age) as while I'm excited about the opportunity to explore on my own and do a lot of much-needed reflection on my trip, meeting other like-minded travellers is never a bad idea!

Also, if anyone has any tips about Paleokasistra, or might be heading to Corfu next summer, I'd love to hear from you.

Please do reach out.
Neil

Which island to visit?

If you only had time to visit one of these islands which would you choose? I am in negotiations with my family to pick only one of these... There's 8 of us traveling and we each have different opinions.

1. Mykonos
2. Santorini
3. Zakynthos
4. Crete
5. Naxos

I am personally leaning towards Zakynthos or Naxos because I have never been... Thanks in advance!
