I've seen so many people rent cars and drive all the way down to Porto Cheli from the Athens airport. While this is a great option if you prefer to drive, many people overlook taking a boat because it takes just a little bit longer. The reality is that taking a boat is much cheaper, and you also can be a lot more comfortable since you're able to walk around the deck, get snacks and coffee, and use the bathroom. Personally, I love taking the boat, because I also like to visit Hydra and Spetses when I am there and it's much easier to take boats to both of those islands as well.

How long of a drive is it? I love the ferries in Greece. So relaxing, and it's much easier than driving. Great tip!

Has anyone here seen a performance n Epidavros?

I am so fascinated by Ancient Greek history and from what I understand, some of the ancient theaters are still intact and performances are being held there. I've been research Epidavros and noticed that they hold performances there in the summer. Has anyone been? What was it like?

I've seen footage online of people marveling at the amazing acoustics, and I want to experience this for myself.

Restaurants with a View in Athens

I am putting together a list of restaurants to try in Athens and I want to have multiple moods on it... Sometimes, I want to dine purely with a view, sometimes I just want a really great meal.

I found this article - what do you guys think of these places in the article? Do you know of any great places with a view in Athens? Ideally the food will also be excellent:

Sometimes I don't have luck with TripAdvisor places, because I am not sure the people voting are necessarily locals...

LAST MINUTE OFFERSON GALILEO!

If any one is lucky or has an opportunity to be on Galileo they will never ever forget these experiences. Many years I formulated an itinerary for Aris Drivas Yatching and Galileo was in Mykonos for an initial practice and presentation sailing around the Cyclades!I didn't have time to go sailing with her, just being on board and seeing her again moored in Syros for many days was just magical..
