Visiting Delphi worth it?

I am trying to figure out if visiting Delphi is worth it. I want to fit seeing as many historical sites as I can into my itinerary. I've always been fascinated by ancient cultures and their histories, which naturally puts places like Athens and Santorini on my list. Recently, I've been reading up on Delphi and am intrigued by its significant historical and cultural value, not to mention its picturesque landscapes.

Given its status as the center of the world in ancient Greek civilization and the home of the famous oracle, it sounds like a place full of fascinating stories and ruins. However, I'm also aware that Greece is full of remarkable places to visit, each with its unique allure.

I have never been! Hopefully someone will chime in. From the photos, it looked like there was not much there and I would personally rather visit Orthodox religious sites with my time in Greece. I love learning about mythology from an historical perspective, but not more than I love learning about Orthodoxy, so I end up having to prioritize my time.

Advice Needed for Visiting Themopylae

I’m planning a trip to Greece next year and one of the places I’d really like to see is Thermopylae. The history there has always fascinated me, and I’d love to finally visit the site in person. For those who have been, how convenient is it from Athens? Could it work as a day trip, or is it better to plan at least an overnight?

I’m also curious what else is in the area that’s worth exploring. I’ve read a little about the hot springs and the monuments, but I don’t know much beyond that. Are there museums or nearby towns that make the experience more worthwhile? If I stayed overnight, would you recommend Lamia or another spot as a base?

Any advice on timing, what to expect, or how to combine it with other nearby sights would be much appreciated!

Hey there! So my little axolotl, Mango, has suddenly decided food is the enemy and I’m kinda freaking out. He used to chow down like a tiny vacuum cleaner, and now he just stares at his worms like they insulted his mother. I’m starting to plan a longer trip to Greece and would love some advice from people who’ve done multi-island itineraries. The idea is an island-focused trip of about three weeks, moving at a comfortable pace rather than rushing through places.
