What is so special about the deer dama-dama in Rhodes?

I've heard so much about these deer but I don't know what makes them so special. Has anyone seen them around the island?

I love these deer! They're a super rare species but unfortunately their numbers are declining. The city is trying their best to take care of them but its not easy

That's so sad, that the numbers are declining. I hope that the population rebounds as people try to take care of them. I wouldn't want to see a beautiful animal like this cease to exist.
 
The numbers are increasing now. Not long ago I saw a large heard of around 20 near the monastery called skiadi

What Happened to the Colossus of Rhodes?

I’ve been reading about Colossus of Rhodes and realized I don’t actually know what happened to it. I know it was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and that it stood somewhere near the harbor in Rhodes, but beyond that, the details are a bit fuzzy for me.

Did it collapse because of an earthquake? And if so, what happened to the remains afterward? I’ve heard different versions—some say it stayed in pieces for a long time, others say it was eventually removed or sold off.

Also, is there any real evidence of exactly where it stood, or is that still debated? Curious to hear what people know or have learned, especially if you’ve visited Rhodes and seen any related sites or history in person.

Picked up a manual concrete mixer for some weekend DIY stuff, but wow, I'm realizing I have no clue if I'm using it in a smart way or just wasting energy. I might go to Rhodes and would really like to visit the Ancient City of Kamiros while I’m there. I love exploring archaeological sites, and from the photos and information I’ve seen, Kamiros looks fascinating. I’m especially interested in seeing the layout of the ancient city and learning more about what daily life would have been like there.

For those who have visited, do you have any tips for making the most of the experience? How much time would you recommend allowing to explore the site without feeling rushed? Is there enough information posted around the ruins, or would it be helpful to read about the history beforehand or bring a guidebook?
