What should I NOT do in Kefalonia?

Did anyone have any negative experiences that could help me out in understanding what I should avoid while visiting Kefalonia?? I know there's so many positives about the island, but I find it helpful to see the good and the bad :)

we class Cephalonia as our island can not find anything to say that's not perfect, if you like shops visit Argosol the capital if you want to relax but also like atmosphere Scala is perfect.

I might be going to Kefalonia sometime this summer, and I’d love some advice from people who know the island well.

Right now I’m still in the early planning stage, but I keep hearing how beautiful the beaches and villages are, especially places like Fiskardo and Assos. I’m trying to figure out the best areas to stay, whether renting a car is absolutely necessary, and which beaches are truly worth visiting versus just popular online.

I’d love to hear your tips for visiting Drogarati Cave. I’ve loved Greece my whole life, I’m Greek, and somehow I’ve never made it to these caves, which feels almost unbelievable to admit. I’m finally starting to plan a trip to Kefalonia, and Drogarati is high on my list.

I’m curious about the practical side as much as the experience itself. Is it best to go early in the day or later? How strenuous is the walk and the stairs, and is it manageable if you want to take your time? I’ve also heard the acoustics are incredible, especially when concerts are held there. Does that change how you experience the space?

I’ve been looking at photos and maps of Kefalonia lately, and what really stands out is how dramatic the coastline seems from above. The cliffs, the sharp turns, the sudden views of turquoise water — it feels like the kind of island where the drive itself is part of the experience.

That made me curious about the best coastal routes on the island. Not just the famous viewpoints, but the actual stretches of road that are especially beautiful to follow. Info About Petani Beach on Kefalonia?

I’m planning a trip to Kefalonia this summer and have been looking into Petani Beach. From photos, it looks incredible, the cliffs, the water color, and the whole setting seem really dramatic, almost like a quieter version of Myrtos.

I’m curious what it’s actually like in peak summer though. Does it get very crowded, or is it still possible to enjoy it without feeling packed in? I’ve also heard the drive down is pretty steep and winding, was it manageable or a bit stressful?

Another thing I’m wondering about is the water. I’ve read that it can get deep quickly and sometimes has waves, did that impact swimming at all?
