Mango is the best app for learning Greek!

If you’ve ever wanted to learn Greek to communicate with family members or to use on your next holiday in Greece, Mango is the app you need to download! I started using it a few months back, and I really feel like it has helped me learn Greek so quickly. The app has so many great features and allows you to record your own voice so you can hear how well you are pronouncing the words so that you can work on your accent. I highly recommend it!

Mango is pretty good. I like Duolingo and Rosetta Stone, as well. For upping my conversational skills, though, nothing beats the Pimsleur system. Also, no language system is going to work for me if I don't make an effort to apply it. So, I make it a point to watch Greek shows and movies, read magazines and read the news in Greek, etc, while using these resources. I usually don't make strides in a language until I start experiencing the language personally.

I speak several languages (Greek and German being my two strongest), but my German is much stronger than my Greek because I lived in Germany. I have never lived in Greece, but I have learned from that experience that I need to get out and use my Greek more. Speak with my parents in Greek, watch a movie, read Greek magazines, etc. Mango IS one of the better programs, but truly nothing does me much good until I start using the language more. But it gives an excellent foundation.
