just back from a one night stay .because its winter the bar and restaurants were closed. In the room no facilities to make tea or coffee. The bathroom had a spa bath that did not work . The bed had no electric blanket so it was cold .All and all not a good experience

I stayed there recently and it ticked a lot of boxes for an easy family trip. The location made it simple to nip between the beach and shops, and the kids burned tons of energy at the pool and sports court. If you're still weighing options, the surfers paradise accommodation I booked had roomy spaces and some handy meal deals that saved us a bit.

recently!!! the pool is closed & the beach would be cold & no sun loungers on the beach. no meals at the hotel at this time of year.even the coffee shop is closed

I had a relaxing stay at Tabacon in La Fortuna. Their warm river and spa facilities were fantastic for unwinding. Maybe consider it for your next trip if you're seeking a place with consistent amenities year-round.

my wife & I live on rhodes. we enjoy taking tourists around . so far this year its been 7 couples. would have been more . 3 couples failed to turn up outside their hotels.4 phoned to say they were ill. This is priceless. one lot phoned the night before to say they had forgotten an appointment at hairdressers. their loss. we do not expect a lot just a contribution towards our lunch.

shop & tavernas etc starting to open

tourists are arriving now so rhodes is starting to come back to life

How do I start using a manual concrete mixer efficiently for DIY projects?

Picked up a manual concrete mixer for some weekend DIY stuff, but wow, I'm realizing I have no clue if I'm using it in a smart way or just wasting energy. I figured it would be simple, but the mix keeps coming out lumpy or too soupy, and I'm starting to feel like the weak link here is... me. If anyone has tips on getting a smooth mix, pacing myself, or just not making a giant mess every time, I'd love to hear it. I really want to get better at this before I start my patio project.

What do you love most about Rhodes?

I’ve been reading about Rhodes lately, and the more I learn, the more it seems like a place that offers a little bit of everything. The island has such an interesting mix of history, beaches, beautiful villages, and great food. The Old Town alone looks incredible, with its medieval streets, stone buildings, and all that history around every corner.

At the same time, people talk a lot about the beaches, the clear water, and places like Lindos with its white houses and views of the acropolis. It seems like Rhodes manages to balance culture, scenery, and relaxation really well.

For those of you who have visited, what stands out the most when you think back on your trip? Was it a specific place, like a beach or village, or more the overall atmosphere of the island?

I’d love to hear what made Rhodes special for you and what left the biggest impression.
