I'm currently planning a trip to Greece, a destination that has long been on my bucket list, not just for its history and cuisine, but especially for the scuba diving experiences it offers. I've heard that Greece boasts some incredible underwater landscapes, from vibrant marine life to fascinating wrecks.

Given the vastness of Greece's coastline, I thought I would try to see the country in a different way.

Let's say I want to go scuba diving in a particular island. How do I go about doing it?

I have no idea about Scuba diving in Greece - it's not something I have tried. Hopefully someone who knows will chime in!

This is the dive centre in Mykonos for over 25 years, Valdemar I hope still owns and manages.Situated on the Kalfatis beach where I lived for many years, after your experience there I am sure he will recommend other islands and Dive centers!....Do mention my name,it will bring back pleasant memories!

Travelling to Corfu, summer 2025

Hi there

I'm travelling to Corfu, spending a month there in summer 2025. I wondered if I might be able to connect with anyone else with similar plans (male or female, any age) as while I'm excited about the opportunity to explore on my own and do a lot of much-needed reflection on my trip, meeting other like-minded travellers is never a bad idea!

Also, if anyone has any tips about Paleokasistra, or might be heading to Corfu next summer, I'd love to hear from you.

Please do reach out.

What does contemporary fine dining look like in Greece?

I’m planning a trip to Greece and, while I love traditional Greek food, I’m also curious about the modern fine dining scene. I know Greece has a deep culinary heritage, but I’ve heard that some chefs are taking classic flavors and giving them a contemporary twist.

For those who have experienced it, what does fine dining in Greece look like today? Are there any standout restaurants or chefs redefining Greek cuisine? Is it more focused on Michelin-starred establishments, or are there also smaller, innovative spots worth checking out?

I’m particularly interested in tasting dishes that blend tradition with modern techniques, maybe something with a creative take on seafood, local ingredients, or Greek wines. Any recommendations for restaurants in Athens, Thessaloniki, or the islands?

Would love to hear about your experiences and must-try dishes! Thanks in advance.

Visiting the Peloponnese Again

It's been a few years since I've been to the Peloponnese and I've been thinking about it lately because I love the food! I want to return and want some tips. Last time I went, I spend most of my time in Monemvassia. I want to go back, but I don't want to spend all my time there.

Do you have suggestions? I want a well rounded trip with beaches, going out, and seeing historical places. For example, I want to visit some of the archaeological sites like Mycenae - I haven't had a chance to do that yet. Any advice you have for me is welcomed!

Tips for Visiting the Dodecanese Islands

Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to the Dodecanese Islands and could use some advice on which islands to prioritize. There are so many to choose from—Rhodes, Kos, Symi, Patmos, Karpathos, Astypalaia, and more—but I won’t have time to see them all.

I love a mix of history, beautiful beaches, authentic Greek food, and charming villages. I’d love to visit at least one island with a lively atmosphere and another that’s more off-the-beaten-path. If you’ve been, which ones stood out to you the most?

Also, any general tips for visiting the Dodecanese? Is island-hopping easy between them? Are there ferry routes that work well for multiple stops, or would it be better to focus on just 1–2 islands?

More Museums in Athens?

Our family visits Athens almost every year, and we love exploring its amazing museums. Last year, we had a great time at the Acropolis Museum and the National Archaeological Museum. This year, we’re heading back in early spring for a family event and are looking for new museums to visit.

We’d love to find places that might be more focused on art or something unique that would appeal to all ages. Any recommendations for must-see museums or hidden gems in Athens? Bonus points for something interactive or family-friendly!

We’re always excited to hear about places we haven’t been yet. Let me know your favorites—thanks in advance!
