So, I have seen photos and videos online and I have to say - I am intrigued by Hydra. It looks like it has potential to be a great, peaceful place to spend time. So, I am wondering what your thoughts are. Has anyone spent an extended amount of time on this island? I will be staying in Athens for a bit. I will be in Greece for a few weeks and am looking for some unique and different things to do.

I was thinking to spend like 5 nights in Athens, a few nights n Hydra, and then either go back to Athens, or choose one other place. I don't want to hop around too much, though, because that isn't super relaxing.

I think you might want to spend at least a night or two in Hydra. It is a great escape. However, on peak season, it gets surprisingly busy - word is getting around that it is convenient from Athens and that it is unique!

What does contemporary fine dining look like in Greece?

I’m planning a trip to Greece and, while I love traditional Greek food, I’m also curious about the modern fine dining scene. I know Greece has a deep culinary heritage, but I’ve heard that some chefs are taking classic flavors and giving them a contemporary twist.

For those who have experienced it, what does fine dining in Greece look like today? Are there any standout restaurants or chefs redefining Greek cuisine? Is it more focused on Michelin-starred establishments, or are there also smaller, innovative spots worth checking out?

I’m particularly interested in tasting dishes that blend tradition with modern techniques, maybe something with a creative take on seafood, local ingredients, or Greek wines. Any recommendations for restaurants in Athens, Thessaloniki, or the islands?

Would love to hear about your experiences and must-try dishes! Thanks in advance.

Recommendations on Greek Cruises?

I’m thinking about taking a cruise to explore the beautiful Greek islands, but I’m overwhelmed by all the options out there! I’d love some recommendations for Greek cruises that offer a mix of stunning scenery, cultural experiences, and authentic Greek food.

I’m particularly interested in smaller cruise lines or ships that give you more time to explore the islands, especially places like Santorini, Mykonos, Crete, and maybe some of the lesser-known islands. Are there cruises that include unique experiences like local cooking classes, wine tastings, or guided historical tours?

Also, I’m curious if anyone has tips on the best time of year to go, what to look for in a cruise line, or any “must-see” stops that I shouldn’t miss.

More Museums in Athens?

Our family visits Athens almost every year, and we love exploring its amazing museums. Last year, we had a great time at the Acropolis Museum and the National Archaeological Museum. This year, we’re heading back in early spring for a family event and are looking for new museums to visit.

We’d love to find places that might be more focused on art or something unique that would appeal to all ages. Any recommendations for must-see museums or hidden gems in Athens? Bonus points for something interactive or family-friendly!

We’re always excited to hear about places we haven’t been yet. Let me know your favorites—thanks in advance!

Visiting the Peloponnese Again

It's been a few years since I've been to the Peloponnese and I've been thinking about it lately because I love the food! I want to return and want some tips. Last time I went, I spend most of my time in Monemvassia. I want to go back, but I don't want to spend all my time there.

Do you have suggestions? I want a well rounded trip with beaches, going out, and seeing historical places. For example, I want to visit some of the archaeological sites like Mycenae - I haven't had a chance to do that yet. Any advice you have for me is welcomed!

Advice for Creating a Greek Itinerary?

I’m planning a 3-week trip to Greece and could use some advice on building the perfect itinerary. I know I definitely want to visit Kefalonia and Athens, but I’m torn about where else to go for my third destination. Should I add another island like Santorini, Crete, or Corfu, or stick to the mainland and explore somewhere like Delphi or Meteora?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on how to balance the time between these spots. How many days should I spend in each place? Are there any must-see attractions or experiences I shouldn’t miss?

Also, any tips on transportation would be really helpful! Should I rely on ferries, flights, or a rental car?

I want to soak in the culture, enjoy amazing food, and see both historic sites and natural beauty. Thanks in advance for your recommendations!
