I love Greek cuisine. I cook it all the time and I love trying new recipes. The time has come for me to think about planning a food tour! Does anyone have any advice?

I would love to hear from members of this forum about their experiences with food tours in Greece.
  1. Which regions or cities offer the best food tours?
  2. Any specific food tour companies or guides that you would recommend?
  3. What were some of the standout dishes or culinary experiences on your tour?
  4. Are there options for people with dietary restrictions, such as vegetarians?
  5. What should one expect in terms of cost and duration?
Any tips or advice on how to get the most out of such a tour would be greatly appreciated too! Thanks!

Good tours are fun! I've taken a few of them. One of the most memorable was a walking tour I took on Chania, Crete.

I unfortunately don't remember the details. The hotel we stayed at recommended them and this was several years ago.

My advice is - ask at your hotel if you're staying at one. They usually have some contacts!

Prioritizing Top Places to Travel in Greece?

I'm planning an adventure to Greece and would love to hear your recommendations. What do you consider the top must-visit places in this beautiful country? Here's my current list, but I'm open to suggestions:
  • Santorini
  • Athens
  • Crete
  • Mykonos
  • Meteora
Looking forward to your insights on these destinations or any hidden gems you think shouldn't be missed. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and tips!

Staying Near Athens by the Beach?

I'm planning a trip to Greece and will be spending some time in Athens, but I'm also looking to stay somewhere outside of the city that’s near the beach. I’m hoping to find a place that offers a more relaxed atmosphere, where I can unwind by the sea while still having access to some local culture and attractions.

Does anyone have recommendations for coastal towns or beach resorts within a reasonable distance from Athens? Ideally, I’m looking for somewhere that’s not too crowded but still has good restaurants, maybe some historical sites, and, of course, beautiful beaches.

I've heard about places like Sounio, Porto Rafti, and Glyfada—are these good options? Any specific areas or hotels you would suggest? Also, how easy is it to travel back to Athens for day trips if I decide to stay outside the city? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Best Greek Wine Regions?

I’m planning a trip to Greece and, as a wine enthusiast, I’m eager to explore some of the country's best wine regions. I've heard a lot about the rich history and unique flavors of Greek wines, and I would love to visit some vineyards and wineries during my stay.

Can anyone recommend the top wine regions to visit in Greece? I’m particularly interested in areas that offer beautiful landscapes, wine tastings, and perhaps some local food pairings. I’ve heard of places like Santorini and the Peloponnese, but I’m sure there are hidden gems I might not be aware of.

Any tips on specific wineries, wine tours, or regions that are a must-see would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you have any advice on the best time to visit these regions, that would be helpful too.
