This is fascinating. Are the temples modern, or are the practices still continuing into the modern day? I had no idea this was something that was going on ... it's intriguing! Hopefully someone will chime in who knows a bit more. I've never visited these places, but am thinking I want to add it to my list for when I can get back to Thessaloniki.

I've never visited. I have heard that there is a growing minority who practice this religion... very interesting thanks for sharing

The Arch of Galerius is one of Thessalonikis most famous landmark

Thessaloniki has two very famous landmarks: the white tower and the the arch of galerius. The history behind this arch is actually very fascinating, it was built in 305 C.E. to signify Galerius’ win from the Persian empire. The arch is now a very popular tourist site, and there is an open space around it where people walk around and enjoy the view of the water. You will definitely stumble upon it on your next trip to Thessaloniki.

What it is like living in Thessaloniki for a month

I love seeing experiences like this, so I thought it would be good to share. This couple has been living in Thessaloniki for one month, so they have a pretty good perspective on what it would be like for foreigners. Ever since covid, there have been more and more digital nomads and people working abroad for months at a time. If you're interested in the experience, I suggest you ask some questions on this forum as well to get advice from people who go to Greece often.

Beware of the roads in Kavala, Greece!

Kavala is a small and beautiful city near Thessaloniki which has some of the windiest and steepest roads. If youre not used to driving in Greece, especially with a manual car I highly recommend that you don't drive yourself. The roads are not for amateurs and it is a much better idea to walk around the city or use taxis. Good luck for anyone visiting! It is one of my favorite cities in the North. Let me know if you would like recommendations! :)

What do Athenians think about Thessaloniki?

Before any Athenians or Greeks get their feelings hurt in the comments, please know that this video was just for fun! Personally, I love both Athens and Thessaloniki and have had great experiences in both places. I have found that Athens is very beautiful during Christmas time, and I prefer to travel there in the off-season since it can get very hot during the summer and pretty empty during August. Thessaloniki is great during the summer because it's right by the water so you can enjoy that cool ocean breeze.
