What are some ride share apps that work in Greece?

Any recommendations? And do some apps only work in Athens? Ive only ever used uber in Athens but Im wondering if there are other options
 
ride sharing in Greece doesn't work the same as the USA, Canada, or AUS.

That said, taxibeat is probably the best

I use taxi beat as well. Uber and Lyft also work in Athens.
 
Alternatively you can find a reputable taxi company and call them over the phone and they will send a cab to wherever you are

This is the thing to do, and thats what taxibeat helps with... most Greeks take taxis, not uber, or lyft.
 
I would definitely just stick with taxis in Greece and forget about ride share. It's not really in the Greek Culture to use ride share.
 
I have never used ride share in Greece, and I am not sure that people really do that. I tend to use taxis, public transport, my legs, or rent a car.

According to this tripadvisor thread, there is an app that Greeks use that can help you secure a taxi called Taxibeat. I have never used it. Has anyone heard of it?

Yes, taxi beat is super popular in Greece. Essentially its just like uber but it uses all of the existing taxi drivers in Greece

Is Island Hopping Worth the Effort?

I've been thinking about trying an island-hopping trip the next time I visit Greece, but I'm wondering if it's actually worth the extra planning and travel time. In the past I've usually picked one island and stayed there for the duration of my vacation, which has been relaxing and let me really get to know the area.

Part of me loves the idea of experiencing several islands in one trip since they each seem to have their own personality, food, scenery, and traditions. On the other hand, I wonder if constantly packing, catching ferries, and checking into new accommodations takes away from the experience.

For those of you who have island-hopped, did you feel it was worth it? How many islands did you visit, and did you wish you had spent more time in fewer places? I'd love to hear your itineraries, tips, and whether you'd do it the same way again.

Best Way to Get a Car Service to JFK Airport Before a Flight to Greece?

Hi everyone, I'm flying out of JFK next month for a trip to Greece and trying to figure out the best way to get to the airport without the usual stress. My flight leaves early in the morning, and I don't want to deal with parking for two weeks or ask a family member to drive me at 4 a.m. I've been looking into booking a car service to JFK Airport instead of a rideshare, mainly because international flights need more buffer time, and I'd rather have a proper chauffeur waiting curbside than risk a driver cancelling at the last minute with all my luggage in tow.
