Where to go hiking in Mykonos

You don't usually think that Mykonos is good for hiking, but there are some great spots. Here are some of my favorites:
platys gialos, psarou beach, agios siostis, and hiking near armenistis lighthouse.

Are these recommendations for serious hiking? Or just long walks in nature? Will I need hiking boots?

Behind Kalafatis beach up to the hidden air base.....on top of Kalo Livadi beach and over to Elia beach....... Behind Ano Mera towards Agrari beach, stunning views......the road from the light house coming towards the Tourlos port..... breathtaking views of Tinos and Syros ...... road from Kivotos Hotel in Ornos opposite Santa Marina.... just a few!?...

Safe with training shoes.... when I spent winters there,I wore hiking boots because more comfortable to do so..... Enjoy, let me know your experiences!?..... Good Morning from Thailand and monsoons beginning...

Thank you for sharing your insights about hiking in Mykonos! I always feel the most comfortable in regular hiking boots since the terrain isn't always ideal for other shoes.

True,I always imagined people asking these questions for summer time and not winter when it is really pleasurable and without any travellers, weather conditions Ideal for taking a picnic with some wine and cheese, olives, some freshly baked bread.... that sort of thing and just dream and go as faraway as one wants taking in the views and letting all else go ! You're making me feel like I need to experience Greece in the winter. That sounds amazing!

Honestly Greece is amazing during the wintertime, especially Christmas when everyone is celebrating and in such a cheerful mood. I highly recommend visiting :)

Mykonos Okay to Visit in March?

A friend recently asked me whether Mykonos is a good place to visit in March, and I realized I don’t have a great answer, even though I’ve been there before. My experience with Mykonos has only been in the height of summer, when everything is open, busy, and very much in full swing.

I’m curious how the island feels in early spring. I assume it’s much quieter, but does that make it enjoyable or does it feel too closed down? Are restaurants, cafés, and shops still operating, even at a reduced level? Is it more of a peaceful, local experience, or does it feel like a place waiting for the season to start?

My friend isn’t necessarily looking for nightlife, but does want good food, nice walks, and a sense of atmosphere. I’d love to hear from anyone who has visited Mykonos in March—or lives there year-round—about what to realistically expect that time of year.

Best Mykonos Sunset Spots?

I’m starting to plan a trip to Mykonos and one of the things I’d really love to experience is a beautiful sunset, but ideally somewhere beyond the most crowded, obvious spots. I know places like Little Venice are famous for sunsets, but I’m wondering if there are quieter locations that still offer amazing views.

Are there beaches, viewpoints, or even small chapels or hillsides where you’ve watched the sunset that felt special? I’d especially love places that feel a bit more relaxed or off the beaten path, even if they require a short walk or drive to get there.

If you’ve been to Mykonos, where did you have your favorite sunset moment? Was it planned, or something you discovered by accident? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What Should You See in Chora Besides the Windmills?

I might be going to Mykonos this fall, and if I do, I definitely want to spend some time exploring Chora. Of course, the windmills and Little Venice are the places everyone talks about, but I’m curious about what else is worth seeing while wandering around town.

Are there particular churches, small museums, neighborhoods, shops, or viewpoints that you think are easy to overlook? I’d especially love recommendations for places that feel a little more traditional or give you a better sense of Mykonos beyond the most photographed spots.

Since I may be visiting in the fall, I’m also wondering if Chora feels noticeably quieter then and whether that makes it easier to explore at a slower pace.

If you’ve spent time there, what were your favorite discoveries? I’d love to know what you think is worth seeking out besides the obvious landmarks.

Is Mykonos Enjoyable for Solo Travelers?

I’m thinking about going to Mykonos sometime next year, possibly on my own, and I’m curious how enjoyable the island is for solo travelers.

I know Mykonos has a big reputation for nightlife, beach clubs, and groups of friends traveling together, so I’m wondering whether it still feels comfortable and fun if you’re there alone. I’d probably want a mix of beach time, walking around Mykonos Town, good food, maybe a little nightlife, and some sightseeing rather than making the whole trip about partying.

For anyone who has traveled to Mykonos solo, did you find it easy to meet people if you wanted to? Did restaurants, beaches, and bars feel comfortable on your own? I’d also be interested in hearing where you stayed and whether certain areas felt better suited to solo travelers than others.

One Week in Mykonos?

I'm thinking about spending a full week in Mykonos on a future trip, and I'd love some itinerary ideas. I've visited the island before, but only for short periods, mostly during cruise stops, so I know I've only scratched the surface.

With a full week, I'd like to slow down and experience more than just the well-known sights. I'd still want to wander through Mykonos Town, enjoy the beaches, and visit Delos, but I'm sure there are plenty of places and experiences I've missed over the years.

If you had seven days to spend on Mykonos, how would you divide your time? Are there quieter beaches, scenic drives, traditional tavernas, or lesser-known spots that you'd be sure to include? I'd love to hear how you would plan a week on the island and what you think shouldn't be missed.
