Kefalonia is home to the endangered caretta-caretta sea turtles! These sea turtles are slowly dying out, so its very important to be respectful of nature while traveling in Greece. Don't throw litter by the sea, or anywhere on the island. There are many beach areas that are protected during the mating period so make sure you follow the signs on the beaches as well. They lay eggs in the sand and stepping on the sand/eggs can be detrimental to the species.

I didn't know that!! Thanks. Do you know where in Zankynthos I can see them? Do I have to go on a guided tour?

Weather in Corfu Question

I am going to Corfu soon - maybe in about three weeks (mid-September).

What is the weather like? I have never been there...

I know on islands like Crete it's still pretty warm in mid September with beach weather. That island is further south than Corfu. Does it make a huge difference? I will be going to Crete, too, so I am trying to figure out how to pack.

Religious Sites to See on Corfu

There are a lot of churches and monasteries in Corfu and when I visit, I won't have a lot of time. What should be my priorities?

I am intrigued by the relics of Saint Spyridon but am having trouble finding where they are on the island. Is it simply called, the Shrine of Saint Spyridon?

I would love to visit some other churches and monasteries if possible. Any information you have will be good!

Visiting Corfu this Summer

I am thinking to head to Greece this summer and I want to spend my time going places I have either never been before, or have only spent a short amount of time at and I would love to return.

Corfu is on my list. I don't know much about it s I am having a hard time focusing my attention so that I can plan my time. I have about five nights to spend here. My most immediate concern is, do you have any recommendations on where to stay on the island?

Top places to see on Corfu advice

I'm planning a trip to Corfu and would love to get some insights from this community. From the breathtaking beaches to the rich historical sites, I'm eager to explore what Corfu has to offer but would like to narrow down my list to ensure I see the top attractions.

Could anyone share their personal favorites or must-see spots in Corfu? I'm interested in both popular tourist destinations and any hidden gems you think shouldn't be missed. Additionally, if there are specific local dishes or restaurants that you believe are quintessential to the Corfu experience, I'd appreciate those recommendations as well.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Video Tour of Corfu

When I am about to visit a destination, I like to watch video content.

It has been a while since I have been to Corfu. I kept trying to go, but it keeps falling through.

Ignore the several-minutes long plug for a product! That part I know was necessary because they were a sponsor.

Once you get through that the content is good!

Share and discuss your Corfu photos, questions and experiences!
