If you are in to archeology you should visit the museum. The displays on Akrotiri our really nice. It is an old fashioned museum, but we like it. I would recommend the combination ticket and also go to see Akrotiri!

If you go to Santorini it is a must see even if you are not in to archeology and do it with a guided tour.
I would also recommend you go to Nea Kameni volcano Island, walk up to the top where the craters are.
If you have spare time take the ferry to Thirasia and have lunch at the waterfront restaurants, the seafood is fantastic and not as pricey as in the main island.

I love visiting Santorini because to me, it's physically beautiful. I find it enchanting because of how unique the landscape is.
About 3,600 years ago, the island experienced a colossal volcanic event, known as the Minoan eruption. This event was so massive that it significantly altered the landscape, creating the caldera—a giant central lagoon surrounded by high cliffs on three sides. The eruption also played a pivotal role in shaping the ancient civilizations of the area.
Santorini's geological wonders don't stop at the caldera. The island boasts unique beaches with varying colors of sand and pebbles—red, black, and white—thanks to its volcanic nature. Visiting these beaches is like stepping onto another planet.
So, I plan to go again this year and check it out. Some of the places I love are Red Beach, Oia (I plan to stay in Oia), and I love doing that hike from Fira to Oia during sunset.What do you love to do in Santorini?

My wife and I are going to Santorini soon. We usually stay with people, but they don't live on the caldera like this.
I thought it would be a nice treat to stay somewhere for a few days that his this kind of a view!
I know there are some great caldera-perched places in Oia. I know they're expensive but they seem worth it.
Anyone have any recommendations?
