What is the best island for a small and intimate wedding in Greece?

My brother is looking to get married in Greece but he is not looking for a big fat Greek wedding! Many guests won't be able to travel to Greece for the wedding, so he is looking for something small and intimate, but affordable. Has anyone gotten married in Greece and has any recommendations? Please let me know in the threads :)
 
I don't know much about this. One thing I have heard is that you can hire a wedding organizer in Greece to help plan it - since it can be difficult doing it from the US. Also, here is a link from the US Embassy & Consulate in Greece:

Small and intimate? I'm not sure about how inimate it is, but check out Agkistri. It's a small island, and not many tourists go there because there isn't much to do, so it's affordable, and there is a church right there on the water in Skala.

Maybe Hydra? It's pretty secluded and its a very small island, cars aren't even allowed on the island

Is Greece easy to travel around without renting a car?

I’m trying to figure out whether it’s realistic to travel around Greece without renting a car. I’d prefer not to drive if I can avoid it, especially since I’m not familiar with the roads, parking, or driving customs there.

For those who have traveled around Greece using public transportation, how easy was it? I know there are buses, ferries, taxis, and domestic flights, but I’m wondering how practical they are once you get outside the main tourist areas. Did you ever feel limited by not having a car?

I’m also curious whether it makes sense to rely on public transportation for most of the trip and just rent a car for a day or two when needed. Are there certain types of places that are especially difficult to reach without one?

I’d love to hear from anyone who has done a Greece trip mostly or entirely without driving.

Festivals of Note for 2026 in Greece?

My family and I are starting to think about a possible trip to Greece in 2026, and this time we’re considering planning part of the trip around a festival or cultural celebration. We’ve been to Greece before, but we’ve never really organized a trip around a specific event.

Best food towns to visit in Greece?

I’ve started realizing that some of my favorite memories from Greece are connected to food more than anything else. Little tavernas, bakeries, seafood by the water, village meals that seemed simple but tasted incredible.
