Is it worth visiting the botanical garden on Rhodes? I think it's called the Sacratous Garden? Or are they two different places. I've heard so much about its stunning landscapes, diverse flora, and tranquil atmosphere, making it a must-see destination for nature lovers. However, I have a couple of questions and I was hoping someone here could share their insights or experiences:
  1. Best Time to Visit: What's the best season or time of year to visit the botanical garden to see it in all its glory? Are there any specific months when the garden is particularly vibrant or hosts special flora?
  2. Must-See Highlights: For those who have been, what are some must-see highlights within the garden that you'd recommend? Any particular sections or rare plants that I shouldn't miss?
  3. Guided Tours: Are there guided tours available? If so, would you recommend taking one to enhance the visit, or is the garden easy to explore independently?

Absolutely, the Botanical Gardens on Rhodes are worth a visit! Located in a lush, serene setting, they offer a beautiful escape from the island’s busier tourist spots. You'll find a diverse collection of plants, including rare Mediterranean species. The well-maintained paths make for a pleasant stroll, and the gardens provide plenty of shaded areas to relax. Additionally, the garden's café offers refreshments, allowing you to enjoy the surroundings at a leisurely pace. I think it's worth visiting!

Traditional Dishes to Try While on Rhodes?

I’ll be visiting Rhodes this summer, and I can’t wait to explore the island’s food scene! I know Greek cuisine is amazing, but I’d love to try local dishes that are unique to Rhodes.

Are there any must-try specialties that I shouldn’t miss? I’ve heard about pitaroudia (chickpea fritters) and lakani (a slow-cooked meat dish), but I’d love more recommendations—whether it’s seafood, traditional meze, or local desserts.

Also, if you have any restaurant or taverna recommendations, I’d really appreciate it! I want to experience authentic, home-style cooking rather than just touristy spots. Bonus points if it’s by the sea with a great view!

Looking forward to your tips and suggestions—thanks in advance!

Most relaxing beaches on Rhodes?

I could use some updated advice. When I sit at the beach, I don’t want it to be crazy—I’m looking for calm, quiet, and a bit of space to breathe. I just found out in another thread that some of the beaches I was considering for my upcoming trip to Rhodes have changed a lot over the years—apparently some are way more crowded or developed now than they used to be.

Does anyone have recommendations for truly relaxing beaches on the island? I don’t need beach bars or party vibes—just clear water, a peaceful atmosphere, and preferably not packed with sunbeds wall to wall. A little taverna nearby would be a bonus, but I’m happy packing my own lunch too.

Are there any spots that still feel a bit under the radar, or at least mellow during certain times of day? I’d really appreciate any suggestions from recent visitors.
