Great question!

When I went to Mykonos in the early 1990s I did not even know taking a day trip to Delos was an option. From what I have heard from folks that have recently visited Mykonos, Delos is a great day trip.

Hope this helps!

Delos
Hope this will help.....I used to promote guided tours of Delos, spend as much time as your appetite for architecture, culture, history, mythology can handle... There is a fantastic museum there now too!....go prepared, suntan lotion, hats lots of water, picnic also... plenty of time to take it all in.... Imagine what Delos would have been like all those years ago.....

Delos is an important island. You can hop on the boat and see around yourself (tour isn't necessary). I recommend to take an early boat (less warm, less crowded). We can easily spend 4 hours there, but it depends on what you want to see. If you just do the museum and the important houses (and the lions), you will spend an hour or 2, I guess.
Just check the timetable on the pier. Maybe you have to make reservations now due to Covid. I don't know..

I have never been but from what I understand, the best way is to either join an organized tour group or take the ferry from one of the nearby islands, like Santorini or Mykonos. It's rich with history!

Good Clubs in Mykonos?

I have heard mixed reviews about partying in Mykonos. Some really love it, some can't stand it. I love a good nightclub so I am hoping I will love it. I love to dance, too. I don't like anything over the top, just normal club vibes.

I did some preliminary research. What do you guys think?

- Scarpa
- Skandinavian Bar
- Cavo Paradiso
- At54

I don't know how to tell if any of these are still open.

Best Mykonos beaches for families?

I'm planning a family vacation to Mykonos and would love some recommendations on the best family-friendly beaches. With a couple of toddlers in tow, I'm looking for beaches that are not only beautiful but also safe for the little ones to play around and paddle in the water.

Additionally, amenities like clean restrooms, nearby places to grab a bite to eat, and shaded areas would be a huge plus. We want to avoid the party scenes and opt for more serene spots where we can build sandcastles and enjoy the waves without too much worry.

If anyone has experiences or suggestions they'd like to share, I'm all ears! What beaches in Mykonos have you found to be particularly good for families? Any tips on the best times to go, or advice on must-bring items?

How do you find the "good" parties on Mykonos?

I went to only one of the beach clubs on Mykonos and it wasn't really my vibe. Yet, I constantly see people partying in Mykonos and it looks fun and they're having a blast. How do these people find those parties?

My questions:

  • Are many of these parties private events?
  • Are there clubs away from the beaches that are known for their nightlife and DJs?
  • Are there different DJs that go to Mykonos? Maybe I can find out about the parties by tracking the DJs?
Another possibility is maybe the party scene really isn't my thing. I appreciate all your thoughts!

Nightlife question about Mykonos

I have seen footage of fun-looking club atmospheres on Mykonos. I went last year and couldn't find those parties! I want to try again the next time I am in Greece, probably in September.

I’d love to find places that strike a balance between great music (preferably a mix of international and local beats), a lively but not overly crowded atmosphere, and of course, stunning settings that scream ‘Mykonos’!

Does anyone have personal favorites or hidden gems they'd be willing to share?

How expensive is Mykonos?

I won't be going this year, but I am starting to plan for next year. I plan to be in a Greece for at least a month and someone I am traveling with is adamant about wanting to experience some clubs in Mykonos.

I think it does look fun, but I am concerned with whether or not it is expensive. I heard it can get bad. We have a limited budget... can we navigate the expense of it, and find less expensive ways to enjoy it. Can we?
