I have a friend who was supposed to go to Rhodes this year as part of a cruise. This isn't until September. She saw about the fires and is freaking out a little bit. The cruise company hasn't been in touch yet.

Do you guys have any advice on what she should do, so I can pass it along to her? She's not online much so I thought I'd post this for her.

Very sad what has happened on Rhodes. I would personally restructure any travel plans not to include Rhodes for this year and then see how it goes for next year.

I am sure the cruise company will reroute to another place if Rhodes is in rough shape too, though. If I were her I would just trust that they'll work it out.

your friend will not be going to the area affected by the fire. Its unlikely they will see anything by septermber

cruise ships are still coming. earlier this week there were 3 on the same day

We were in Rhodes late July, beginning of August When the fires were raging. We stayed at the casino we didn't see any fire or smoke there at all. Fires were about 50-60 km south, near Lindos. We drove all the way to the southmost point. A lot of the mountain was burned and in some cases all the way down to the sea. Tell your friend to go and enjoy.
We were on Kefallonia later and they had fires there as well. Again no problems, the fire was put out in a day.
The big fire is north near the Turkish border, smoke from there west as far as Italy!

  1. Contacting the Cruise Company: She should reach out to the cruise company for information and updates.
  2. Monitoring the Situation: Keep an eye on the news and local authorities for updates on the fires in Rhodes.
  3. Travel Insurance: Check if she has travel insurance that covers trip disruptions.
  4. Alternative Plans: Consider having backup plans or alternate destinations in case the situation doesn't improve.
  5. Stay Informed: Keep checking for updates and follow any guidance provided by the cruise company and local authorities. check out more https://airport-san-francisco.com

Visiting Ancient Ramiro's on Rhodes

I realized I have never seen this site and I am traveling with history buffs. I thought I'd ask you all for some advice:

  1. Best Time to Visit: What’s the best time of year to explore Ancient Kamiros to avoid the crowds but still enjoy good weather?
  2. Getting There: Are there public transportation options available, or would renting a vehicle be advisable? Any tips on parking or the best times to arrive?
  3. Must-Sees: Within the site, are there any particular spots or artifacts that are a must-see? I'm interested in capturing some great photos and soaking in the history.
  4. Tour. Should I take a tour? Anything to recommend?

Are there festivals in the summer in Rhodes?

I’m planning a trip to Rhodes, Greece, and I've heard that the island is not just about stunning beaches and breathtaking landscapes, but it’s also rich in culture and offers a variety of festivals throughout the year. I’m really excited about the possibility of aligning my visit with one of these cultural events!

Can anyone share recommendations for festivals in Rhodes? I’m interested in anything from traditional Greek celebrations to music, art, and food festivals. Anything that will allow me to soak in the local culture and make my trip even more memorable.

I usually just "see the sites" when I am in Greece. This is my second time on Rhodes, so now I am looking for something different to do.

Nightlife in Rhodes - Faliraki

I have some friends who went to Rhodes last year and they said they observed that Faliraki has some good nightlife. Is this true?

Could anyone share some insider tips or personal experiences about the best spots to enjoy the evening?

Specifically, I’m looking for:
  • Clubs that have a great atmosphere and awesome music.
  • Bars or pubs where I can meet new people and have some good conversation.
  • Any places known for live music or unique entertainment.
I will only be there for a few days and I might only have a night to spend doing that kind of thing before I move on to another part of Greece. Trying to see a lot this time.

Rhodes tips for couples

I am looking for tips about visiting Rhodes for couples. I will be traveling with my significant other and no one else, and this is a first traveling without other people. I am excited!

We're looking for recommendations to make the most of our time on this beautiful island. Specifically, we're interested in:
  • Charming Places to Stay: We'd appreciate suggestions for quaint, romantic accommodations that offer a memorable experience.
  • Must-See Attractions: What are the top sights that we should not miss while in Rhodes?
  • Romantic Dining: Any hidden gems or restaurants with a romantic ambiance that would be perfect for a couple?
  • Secluded Spots: Are there any less-traveled beaches or quiet spots for some quality time away from the crowds?
  • Local Experiences: We're keen on engaging in activities or experiences unique to Rhodes – anything that's a bit off the beaten path.
  • Travel Tips: Any general advice on navigating Rhodes as a couple – transportation, safety, or local customs we should be aware of?
Thanks so much!
