I've been browsing a bunch of websites before my trip to Rhodes and some of them are suggesting that I visit the aquarium. Is this aquarium special or any different? I don't really want to waste my time visiting an aquarium that's the same as the one I can go to in my own city. Thanks

Honestly there wasn't much of a difference. There are way better and way more unique things to do on the island than go to an aquriaum. Your intuition is right

How different could an aquarium truly be? I wouldn't suggest it

If you have a lot of time on the island and are looking for something to do on a not so nice day, visiting the aquarium couldn't hurt. However, I wouldn't go at the expense of something you really should see, such as the historical area with the Knights of Saint John, and you should definitely prioritize visiting at least one beach. In the rare instance of rain, or if you have kids that are having a hard time being amused and you can get them excited about the aquarium, I say go for it!

Tips for Exploring the Ancient City of Kamiros

I might go to Rhodes and would really like to visit the Ancient City of Kamiros while I’m there. I love exploring archaeological sites, and from the photos and information I’ve seen, Kamiros looks fascinating. I’m especially interested in seeing the layout of the ancient city and learning more about what daily life would have been like there.

For those who have visited, do you have any tips for making the most of the experience? How much time would you recommend allowing to explore the site without feeling rushed? Is there enough information posted around the ruins, or would it be helpful to read about the history beforehand or bring a guidebook?

I’d also love to know about practical details, such as the best time of day to visit, how much walking is involved, and whether there are any other nearby places worth combining with Kamiros on the same day.

What Part of Rhodes Feels Most “Local”?

I might be visiting friends in Rhodes this summer, and I’m trying to figure out which parts of the island feel the most local and authentic versus heavily touristy.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll definitely check out the major spots and beaches, but I usually enjoy the places where you can actually slow down a little, grab a coffee, sit at a taverna, and get more of a feel for everyday life on the island.

My friends have mentioned that Rhodes has very different vibes depending on where you are, especially once you get away from the main tourist areas.

So I’m curious what people here would recommend. Are there any places that really capture the atmosphere of the island beyond the typical tourist experience?

What do you love most about Rhodes?

I’ve been reading about Rhodes lately, and the more I learn, the more it seems like a place that offers a little bit of everything. The island has such an interesting mix of history, beaches, beautiful villages, and great food. The Old Town alone looks incredible, with its medieval streets, stone buildings, and all that history around every corner.

At the same time, people talk a lot about the beaches, the clear water, and places like Lindos with its white houses and views of the acropolis. It seems like Rhodes manages to balance culture, scenery, and relaxation really well.

For those of you who have visited, what stands out the most when you think back on your trip? Was it a specific place, like a beach or village, or more the overall atmosphere of the island?

I’d love to hear what made Rhodes special for you and what left the biggest impression.

How do I start using a manual concrete mixer efficiently for DIY projects?

Picked up a manual concrete mixer for some weekend DIY stuff, but wow, I'm realizing I have no clue if I'm using it in a smart way or just wasting energy. I figured it would be simple, but the mix keeps coming out lumpy or too soupy, and I'm starting to feel like the weak link here is... me. If anyone has tips on getting a smooth mix, pacing myself, or just not making a giant mess every time, I'd love to hear it. I really want to get better at this before I start my patio project.
